A new camera tested on the RSV Orca for maritime surveillance

Integration of a stabilized 360° camera on the RSV Orca for maritime surveillance purpose

Project

Almost a year after the delivery of the RSV Orca dedicated to the surveillance of the Toulon Naval Base, the French Navy tested a stabilized 360 ° camera developed by CeSigma.

This integration onboard the RSV Orca and deployment tests were carried out in January 2021.

 

The image stabilization of this camera improves detection, day or night.

New order from the French Navy for the supply of USV “RSV”

Project

In December 2020, MARINE TECH won one of the largest contracts to supply USV-type surface drones, enabling bathymetric surveys to be conducted as part of the French Navy’s operational activities.

HELIO module delivery in the Middle East

Project

MARINE TECH continues to market HELIO systems. In April 2020, HELIO modules were delivered to the Sultanate of Oman, in Middle East.

There, HELIO will produce drinking water from brackish water. It will be used to supply water to areas still suffering from the lack of drinking water.

Project

Today, 38% of the local population of French Polynesia still does not have access to drinking water. In response, MARINE TECH plans to install several drinking water production farms in the municipalities concerned.

In March 2020, MARINE TECH delivered the first HELIO arms to Papeete.

The installation of the 1st HELIO farms in the Tuamotu must have been postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Sale of a RSV Orca to the french navy

Supply of USV RSV Orca, equipped with monitoring device, and training of personnel

Project

In March 2020, Marine Tech delivered  the first marine drone, in the USV class, for sensitive military sites surveillance. This project is part of an experiment and is operated by surveillance personnel from the Toulon naval base.

Equipped with a high resolution day / night video transmission system, it is intended to evolve towards missions of cartography and location of underwater objects.

In April 2020, HELIO received the SOLAR IMPULSE EFFICIENT SOLUTION label and is now part of the community of 1000 solutions to change the world.

Bertrand Piccard has launched, through the Solar Impulse Foundation, the challenge to select 1000 solutions, that can protect the environment in a profitable way and present them to decision-makers to fast-track their implementation. A way to take the success of the solar-powered flight around the world further.

Marine Tech Winner of the Ocean Innovation Trophies 2019

On January 16, 2020 at the Maison des Océans (Paris), MARINE TECH received the Ocean Innovation Trophy - Blue Growth & Sustainable Development for its HELIO solution, producing drinking water from the sea, 100% autonomous and powered exclusively by solar energy.
Aimed at promoting innovations and innovative actions, which help protect the oceans or exploit their resources, the 2019 edition of the Ocean Innovation Trophies awarded 7 Trophies out of 59 applications.
MARINE TECH warmly thanks the jury and ADECAN, organizer of the Trophy for the opportunity they offer us, thanks to this award, to promote our HELIO innovation.

 

HELIO SUPPORTED BY THE EUROPEAN UNION

Objectives

Setting up of a production line in the PACA Region and manufacturing of a pilot farm HELIO

Project

Since 2018, Marine Tech is supported by the European Union and the European Regional Development Fund for the industrialization of HELIO drinking water production and autonomous system, using 100% renewable energies. These funds will be used to setup the HELIO production line and a pilot farm in the South Region, to commercialize HELIO worldwide, where populations suffer from drinking water scarcity and conventional desalination plants can not be installed.

HELIO meets the challenges of sustainable development. It represents a simple solution, quick to install, cost-effective and environmentally-friendly, making it accessible to all.

European Union funding amount (ERDF) = 400 000 €.

Duration of the project = 3 years.

Project

Following its participation to the Tahiti Digital Festival which was held in Tahiti last October, MARINE TECH signed a distribution agreement with the group SIN TUNG HING MC during the TECHNO DAY organized by SYSTEM FACTORY at the Technopole de la Mer. The group will distribute HELIO, a 100% autonomous drinking water production solution powered by solar energy to supply sites where drinking water is still lacking today.
The 1st HELIO modules will be installed from the beginning of 2020.

Sale of a RSV Sea Observer Compact for inspection of subsea facilities

Supply of USV RSV Sea Observer Compact, equipped with BlueROV2

Project

As part of the maintenance of offshore loading/offloading buoys, IMODCO chose to implement the RSV Sea Observer Compact to inspect the floating and underwater facilities of these buoys.

The RSV allows IMODCO to monitore and map the seabed with moorings, PLEM and other subsea equipment.

The objective is to ensure the integrity of the installations and to improve the safety of personnel and operations at sea.

So, Marine Tech delivered in October 2018 a RSV Sea Observer Compact, equipped with BlueROV2, and trained IMODCO personnel.

HELIO during the World Future Energy Summit 2019

Project

As part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, the World Future Energy Summit took place in Abu Dhabi from 14-17 January 2019. This Forum highlighted innovation and technology in the field of energy, clean-tech and sustainability.

Among more than 850 exhibitors, MARINE TECH presented to the Middle-East market of drinking water production, its innovative solution HELIO 100% self-sufficient and using solar energy only.

In this part of the world, where freshwater is scarce, HELIO has attracted a lot of interest from public bodies, private companies and individuals, especially as a water purification solution from groundwater or seawater and thus giving access to drinking water for people living in remote areas.

HELIO honored by the European Union during the Mediterranean of the Future

On November 12th and 13th, the Mediterranean of the Future conference, Act 2, was held in Marseilles. Organized by the South Region, it brought together delegations from Mediterranean countries, artists, entrepreneurs, top personalities and local authorities to discuss about the future of the Mediterranean. For this Act 2, youth and innovation were at the heart of the debate.
Organized under the patronage of Johannes Hahn, the European Commissioner in charge of the European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, honored HELIO, system for producing drinking water using 100% solar energy Autonomous, as an exemplary project supported by the EU on a major issue of the Mediterranean region: the water resource.

The NOTIL to remove oil spill following the collision of two vessels offshore the Corsica Cape

Accidental marine pollution response

Project

On 7 October, a Tunisian ro-ro ship, the Odysseus, collided with the Cypriot container ship CLS Virginia, then at anchor about 28 km northwest of the Corsica Cape. The collision caused a breach in the hull of the container ship, releasing bunker fuel.
The French Navy has deployed various pollution response equipment, including the marine pollution response trawl from Marine Tech: The NOTIL to recover oil slicks drifting at sea, especially around the islands of Hyères.

As part of the Monaco's offshore extension project by Bouygues TP/Eiffage, Marine Tech has just won a contract for the supply of a RSV Orca 2 to carry out bathymetric surveys in coastal and offshore areas.
Since May, the RSV Orca 2 carries out marine survey to assist marine works by Eiffage teams.

On 18 June, Renaud Muselier, President of the Region, and Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State for the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs officially launched the "Team Sud Export", a mechanism to carry out the commitments of the Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, as part of the export government reform Team France.
Marine Tech has been selected by the South Paca Region, as pilot territory of this mechanism, to integrate this regional export business of Team Sud Export, also associating Business France and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
As winner of the 2018 edition, Marine Tech will benefit from an "à la carte" support whose objective is to boost its international development.

ADIPEC 2017 : NPCC presents the RSV Sea Observer

In the frame of ADIPEC 2017 Conference & Exhibition, held in Abu Dhabi from 12 to 15 December, NPCC Survey & Diving team presented the RSV Sea Observer.
This new USV (Unmanned Surface Vehicle) is dedicated to marine survey and subsea works monitoring.
Many visitors could experienced ROV deployment from the Sea Observer platform in the pool provided for demonstration.

Inauguration of the 1st HELIO pilot-farm producing drinking water 100% autonomous in St Raphaël

To provide drinking water to population suffering from water scarcity

Project

On October 24, the HELIO pilot-farm producing drinking water from seawater powered by renewable energy only was inaugurated.
Based on solar distillation, HELIO treats any type of water.

Hosted by the City of St Raphael and the Urban Community (CAVEM), HELIO pilot-farm is installed at the Vieux-Port until December.

HELIO project is co-financed by the Region PACA, The French State, BPI France and the European Union (FEDER).

 

Supply of RSV Orca in China

Project

In early 2017, Marine Tech delivered a RSV Orca to Marinfo Technology, a Chinese company specialized in hydro-oceanography and remote sensing services.
The Marinfo team received training in the use of RSV in France.
It will be equipped with a multibeam sonar and a Lidar soon.

The French companies have a know-how in the field of marine pollution response because of major oil spills that occurred in France. Among these companies, Marine Tech offers the Notil as solution to this problem. The Notil is a trawl that collects pollution from the sea. Today, it is traded in France (French Navy, Jifmar, BP,...), but also abroad (Abu Dhabi, Vietnam, Malaysia,...).

Project

Geoscope is a surveying and geospatial engineering services supplier based in Middle-East. To cater the needs of its clients in Oil and Gas, dredging et marine works sectors in the Gulf, Geoscope selected the RSV to achieve hydrographic and geophysical surveys.
The RSV Orca 2, 2016 version delivered to Geoscope, goes faster (up to 12 knots in transit) with enhanced autonomy (8hrs).

Delivery of a new generation of USV : the RSV Sea Observer

Design, manufacture and delivery of a marine drone for offshore applications

Project

This new development of USV is based on RSV patented technology. This RSV deploys a ROV.
Designed for offshore operations up to 2m swell with 24h autonomy, the RSV Sea Observer is the first USV in its class able to deploy a ROV. The RSV Sea Observer can also be equiped with a multi beam echosounder and a side scan sonar.
It will be delivered early 2017.

Project

As part of marine works, the company Servicad performs accurate bathymetric surveys for its customers.
To this end, Servicad chose to acquire the RSV. Thanks to this USV, Servicad is able to carry out underwater mapping in automatic (autopilot) or remote-controlled mode.

Exploring underwater freshwater springs.

Project

After studying the geological context favorable to the presence of submarine springs, Marine Tech conducted an exploration campaign offshore the Sultanate of Oman (satellite study, aerial survey using thermal cameras and marine survey).
This campaign allowed locating several sources close to the Omani coast.
These springs will serve a water bottling project.
